The oppression of women locally and globally has come to the forefront in our culture with the #MeToo movement.

Many have said it’s about time. Others have been on the path of giving women a voice, fair treatment, and safety in the world for decades. At Women Speakers Association, we help women get their messages heard by offering the resources, strategies, and tool to help them reach those they have a passion for supporting.

When we think about women in oppressive situations, we must reach out and offer hope and wisdom. The mindset the oppressed have is not going to get them out of their situation. They must find their resilient potential.

On this November 29th WSA-TV Premier Show episode our experts speak from personal experience of rising from challenges including oppressive cultures and situations to achieving personal freedom, success, and joy.

Featuring: Liza Pavlakos & Misako Yoke

Advice from our WSA Experts

We asked our featured guests to share some of their valuable wisdom with us.

Liza says to remember “Mind over matter. Your voice matters. Turn your adversity into your triumph story.”

Misako implores us to “Please, please treat yourself as your best friend. When you are struggling, ask: How would I support my BFF in the same situation? It helps getting yourself out of your own head. Don’t forget to reward yourself when you achieved your goal. Celebrate small wins, too. If you are on tight budget, just saying “”Yay!”” with your both arms up will make you feel better!”
