The time tested marketing channel of networking is alive and well and it’s time to leverage it.

Women are natural networkers. We love connecting with friends, family, colleagues and even clients and prospective clients. The missed opportunity, however, is we often forget how to leverage our networking. We can be wonderfuly social and feel great after meeting up with our favorite groups but what if you could actually wind up with potential speaking gigs just by showing up. This applies not only at in-person events but online. The more you show up (for example, in the Women Speakers Association community or Women Speakers Association Premier Member Facebook groups), the more you warm people up to you, your expertise, and the value you can offer.

The most basic key to leveraging any kind of network is pre-thinking about the intention you have for participating. We don’t recommend that be simply to make money. Instead, if ultimately you want to be profitable you’ll want to form relationships that would lead to that. You’ll want to learn about people, what they are passionate about and as you come to common ground there may be something you can do for them. This way, they would then be open to supporting you. The networking process when done right is one of relationship building, generosity, and reciprocity. Let us know how it goes. Better yet, join us and come leverage our network.

There are so many ways to use networking and this episode discusses many more of them.

On this June 27th WSA-TV Premier Show episode our guest experts will share tips on the many ways to network to grow your speaking business.

Featuring: Leisa Reid & Brandy Lawson

Advice from our WSA Experts

We asked our featured guests to share some of their valuable wisdom with us.

Leisa shares that “after booking and delivering over 400 speaking engagements, I will share the #1 secret I continue to utilize to Get Booked & Stay Booked! TRULY, it is to network and build relationships with other speakers. Build strategic partnerships with a close circle of speakers and you will be booked for life!”

Brandy says that “Digital decisions in your business don’t start with a Google search – that’s the fastest way to get sidetracked or “should” on. To make the right choice for you & your business, start with what you really need – do the un-glamorous work of defining the problem. Then determine what other people, systems and technology you already have in use that any solution to your problem will need to work with. Now, ask trusted colleagues how they’ve solved this problem.”
