Featuring: Lisa Jean Nielson, Maxine Shapiro & Marina Lando

Our experts share some advice:

Lisa Jean says “Give yourself permission to try out a new art medium you haven’t before – or revisit something you used to find joy and release in from younger years. Make a list of artistic practices or creative activities that you would like to try- quite frankly, YOUR artistic medium doesn’t have to be traditional or look like anyone else’s! Books, podcasts, libraries and museums- these are all great ways to get started!
Think outside the box when it comes to what it means to be an artist and a creative and be cautious as to not compare and criticize your own creations- you are good enough, valid enough and your expression is worth sharing and connecting you to others!”

Maxine shares “I put people through this great exercise- every sentence begins with “What I like about that idea is…” They love it, as they realize how quick they’ve been to shut down other’s ideas and they begin embracing this alternative. I get emails all the time sharing how it’s changing their relationships. Thrilled!”

Marina explains “Emotions are just a different layer of response of your immune system. We experience them not because we are good or bad. These emotions when accepted with compassion can make a positive change in the world.”
