Are you armed with the tools you need for the long term in your business?

Building your skills in business, for your career and your relationships with the aging population arms you with the tools you need for the long term. As people live longer, they are working longer and they are dealing with declining abilities that come along with aging.

On this April 9th WSA-TV Premier Show episode we discuss how to define the skills needed to help you help the aging population.

Featuring: Allison K. Summers & Laura Wayman

Allison says “my goal is to help individuals be seen as a ‘Partner of Choice’ and I want people to be in the business of creating opportunities for themselves. Ultimately, I believe learning business by doing is more powerful then anything you will get in a classroom so my advice is to build connections in the human space and digital space and cover your personal skills gaps. I know this is going to sound very business 101, but go to a used bookstore and pick up a business management book – one of those thick ones that is like an arm chair MBA – and on the table of contents circle the areas you need to learn more about and connect to people who have those skills or make friends at your office with people who have those skills. Be business curious because in the future of work you may be an independent contractor or a small business owner and you do need to know it all.”

Laura shares “my strategies have seen great success in thousands of individual homes and care facilities across the country and around the world. I can show how understanding the limits and possibilities of the person who has dementia can make all the difference in the quality of life for both the caregiver and the one being cared for.”
