In today’s society, women’s empowerment is imperative to create a more equitable and just world. The idea of an empowered woman has evolved over the years and now encompasses a multifaceted approach that encompasses economic, social, and political empowerment.

In this Premier Women’s Show, we interview our Global Business Connector, Anita Russell. Anita, is the founder and CEO of The Place to Soar, a social enterprise dedicated to personal transformation and cultivating change. She speaks about the importance of women’s empowerment and how it contributes to greater gender equity.

Anita shares that an empowered woman is someone who has control over her own life, makes her own decisions, and has access to resources that allow her to live a fulfilling and equal life. Unfortunately, women around the world have faced a plethora of barriers that hinder them from achieving their full potential. These include economic, health, decision-making, and cultural barriers. Women often make less money than their male counterparts, are responsible for childcare, and experience violence and trauma at disproportionate rates.

Closing the gender pay gap and eliminating these barriers could greatly improve women’s lives and contribute to creating a more equitable world. Gender equity means meeting the specific needs of women and ensuring equitable access to resources such as maternal health care, which benefits society as a whole.

Anita also points out that promoting gender equity is necessary to achieve gender equality, where men and women have the same opportunities and entitlements in social, economic, and political spaces. Empowering women allows for greater equity by providing them with the agency to control their own lives in an equitable environment.

Empowering women is crucial for catalyzing transformative change at all levels, individual, social, and institutional. Empowerment leads to greater equality and equity by providing individuals with the agency to control their own lives.

Women Speakers Association (WSA) offers women the opportunity to connect, share wisdom, and explore empowerment. It provides a space for women to network and gain access to tools and resources that can help them improve their skills and advance in their careers. WSA also promotes the principles of influence, leadership, and equity, which align with the goals of empowering women.

The nonprofit organization Women Lift Health partners with diverse women to improve health outcomes. They are aligning with principles of gender equity and empowerment and are a great example of how we can bring gender equity forth.

In conclusion, empowering women is necessary for creating a more equitable and just world. Gender equity is necessary to achieve gender equality, and empowering women allows for greater equity by providing them with agency to control their own lives in an equitable environment.

Women Speakers Association is a place for empowered women to shine because we promote the principles of influence, leadership, and equity and provide a space for women to network and gain access to the tools and resources needed to grow their visibility and make a bigger impact with their message. It is imperative that we continue to work towards empowering women and promoting gender equity to create a brighter future for everyone.
